The new type relates to an energy storage device, specifically a lithium-ion capacitor module. Energy storage devices mainly include lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) and double layer capacitors (EDLCs, also known as supercapacitors), which have been widely used. Lithium ion batteries have the advantages of high energy density, but they have the disadvantages of short service life and low power density. Supercapacitors have the advantages of high output power and long cycle life, but they also have the problem of low energy density. Lithium ion capacitors (LIC) use a hybrid structure of lithium-ion batteries and double-layer capacitors, with the positive electrode made of activated carbon and the negative electrode made of materials such as graphite. It combines the high power density of supercapacitors (which is much higher than lead-acid batteries), long lifespan characteristics, and high energy density of lithium-ion batteries.
